You didn't ask me, but I have always loved folk music and my very first introduction to it was an album of ballads and blues by Odetta.Odetta died yesterday of heart disease at the age of 77.
She was one of the very few people in the public spotlight that heavily influenced the way I thought about things.
Today I will play her music and mourn her passing.
