Union Busting

You didn't ask me, but the GOP's refusal to OK legislation helping to bail-out the automakers is simply union-busting at it's most shameful.

And you shouldn't be surprised to learn that the Senators who are speaking out against the bail-out come from states where foreign automakers reign supreme - Volkswagen & Nissan in Tennessee, Toyota in Kentucky, etc., etc. ad naseum.

Disingenuous Senators like Bob Corker and Mitch McConnell are merely the designated anti-labor, anti-worker hit men doing the wet work for the GOP - which has been waiting breathlessly for a chance to decimate the U.A.W.

I guess protecting handouts from foreign automakers to your campaign treasure chest is more important than standing up for American automakers.

Look, I'm all for demanding CEO and corporate management responsibility going forward, and demanding real business plans that can show how a sustainable auto industry can happen. But there is no way that I place this fiscal problem at the feet of organized labor. Hell, the total labor cost is only 10% of the price of a GM, Ford or Chrysler product.

It's time to call bullshit and not let these Repugs get away with this.

Just another case of politicians failing the American public for their own self-interests.
